Mary Margaret Birkla, 82, of Carmel passed away Thursday, November 1st, 2007 at St. Vincent Hospice surrounded by her family. She was born January 21, 1925 to the late Lawrence and Margaret Freiburger in Fort Wayne, IN. She worked in medical records at Methodist Hospital. She loved to play cards and participated in many social activities. She is survived by her sons, Thomas Dickmeyer, Steven (Mary Ellen) Dickmeyer; daughters, Lynne Dickmeyer Greenwood, Carol (Timothy) Dickmeyer Fishburn, Michele (Martin) Dickmeyer Chader; 19 grandchildren, one great grandchild; and brother, Donald (Nelda) Freiburger. Mary was preceded in death by her husbands, Russell A. Dickmeyer, Mervin “Gary” Heaton, and Henry Birkla; sister, Joan Ramage; and brother, Thomas Freiburger. Friends are invited to call Monday, November 5 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10654 Haverstick Rd., Carmel, IN. Immediately following a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.
